   Dear Members,
I would like to start off by wishing all of you Navroz Mubarak. May this new year bring safety, peace and prosperity for all of you and your family. Platinum Federal Credit Union is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. We continue to grow strong and serve you as members of PFCU and thank you
for keeping PFCU as your first choice for your banking needs. With the continuous growth of PFCU, we are able to give back to the community by offering scholarships and educational seminars. Last year we introduced emergency loans for member who were impacted by COVID and did skip payments for several hundred members on their loans. We are happy to know most of our members have weathered the COVID downturn well and are now thriving back as the economy has started to pick up some steam late last year and early this year.
We have continued to partner in the community events including events hosted by: Aga Khan Economic Planning Board (AKEPB), Ismaili Professional Network (IPN), Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB), Aga Khan Social Welfare Board (AKSWB), and Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). This month we have partnered with Aga Khan Health Board (AKHB) in Southeast Region, to provide our members with Choices for Health Program. We hope members will enroll and participate in large number to make healthy choices and improve their overall wellbeing. Since PFCU has our best interest in mind, I would like to encourage you to consider Platinum Federal Credit Union as your first choice for financial needs.
PFCU’s 21st Annual Meeting & Board Elections will be held on Sunday, April 25th at 1:00 pm EDT via Zoom Webinar, visit http://bit.ly/PFCU21AGM to register. Emails have also been sent out to members to register for the Annual Meeting. We will provide updates on the health and growth of the credit union as well as provide a synopsis of the future plans of PFCU.
PFCU’s 2021 Academic Scholarship Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting. I would like to take
this opportunity to thank Atlanta Retailers Association, Alabama Merchant Associations, Tri-State Trade Association, several Members, and PFCU ex-Chairman
& Presidents who have contributed and supported
PFCU Scholarship and help us keep providing financial support to well deserving youth of our community and honor their achievements. This year PFCU will be giving 40 scholarships of $2,500 each totaling to $100,000 to recognize and reward the educational achievements and aspirations of our students and to promote the pursuit of further education and life-long learning by our members.
We continue to see high demand in mortgage loan refinances and purchases; however, we are also seeing long term rates starting to climb. So, if you have still not taken advantage of the low rates, you may want to do
it soon, as the low rates may not last for long. For new home buyers, we are able to provide them with quick closings, excellent rates and above all low closing costs with no origination fees. For first time home buyers, please visit PFCU website and see the Education menu for first time home buyer online training to understand all that goes into owning a home.
Please visit PFCU website at www.platinumfcu.org or www.Platinum.CreditUnion to obtain latest information on products, services, rates, financial literacy, etc. The Education EVERFI platform is an excellent resource that we provide to you our members at no cost to you. Please visit the website to take advantage of the new courses and enhance your financial knowledge.
I would like to thank all the board and committee members, and most importantly the staff who have worked tirelessly this past year despite COVID and went above and beyond to provide services to our members, especially with the SBA PPP loans.
Sincerely,
Amin Premjee Chairman
