Like all credit unions, Platinum Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. When you join the credit union, you become a shareholder – or an owner – of a very unique financial institution. Earnings above the required reserves are returned to you, in the form of lower interest rates on loans and competitive dividends on savings.

We are owned and operated by our members. We exist solely for the purpose of serving our members’ best interests.

Today Platinum Federal Credit Union serves the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims residing in the United States of America.

To join the credit union, complete a membership card and make an opening deposit of at least $20 to your share/savings account. Once you join, you and your IMMEDIATE FAMILY members who join have a lifetime membership, even if you change jobs or move

Who We Are

Platinum Federal Credit Union was founded in December 1999 to serve the financial needs of Shia Imami Ismaili Community Members. Today, with over 13,500 members and assets in excess of $360 million, we are among the fastest growing credit union.

Our mission is to provide convenient sources of credit and other financial services to allow our members to accomplish their financial goals and we stand by that commitment every day by offering today’s sophisticated services without losing sight of our purpose.

We vastly differ from regular banks because our financial cooperative is owned by our members. All profits are reinvested in our members by improving our products and services and by offering low cost loans and high rate of return to our members and their immediate families.

FAQ’s

Community members of Shia Imami Ismaili Muslim faith residing in the United States of America can become a members of Platinum Federal Credit Union (PFCU).

A member can open an account with minimum deposit of $40.00 of which $20 remains in the account as minimum balance for one share and $20 is a one time membership fees.

A fee of $20.00 is charged at the time of opening the account. There are no monthly fees or maintenance fees for Personal or Business Savings/Share Account.

By becoming a member of PFCU, a member can avail various financial services such as Personal Loans, Auto Loans, Student Loans, Business Loans, Home Mortgage Loans, Commercial Real Estate Loans, Share Secured Loans, Wire Transfers, Personal Checking, Business Checking, Money Market, etc.

Yes, your deposits are secured and insured up to $250,000 by NCUA (National Credit Union Administration), a government agency.

Any member opening a share account with a credit union becomes the owner of the credit union and is entitle to receive dividends declared by the credit union. We offer competent rate of interest on Savings, Money Market Accounts and Certificate of Deposits.

Dividends on Share/Savings Account are not fixed rate of return, they vary depending on the performance of the credit union in a given period. Dividends on Share/Savings account are declared semi-annually and disbursed on June 30th and December 31st.

 

A member can avail Personal Loan up to $100,000, Auto loan of up to $150,000, Business Loan of up to $100,000, Student Loan of up to $80,000, etc. There is no limit on Home Mortgage Loans and Commercial Real Estate Secured Loans, but depends on the type of property and valuation.

A member can wire its funds to almost any Bank and any Country receiving incoming international wire transfer.
